Who provides HeartSync
HeartSync: Couples Journal is provided by Web Dev NC. In these terms, “HeartSync”, “we” and “us” mean Web Dev NC as the developer and operator of the app. “You” means the person using it.
By downloading, signing in to, or using HeartSync, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding agreement where you live. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for activity on your account.
What HeartSync does
HeartSync is a private journal for two linked partners. Each of you writes three short heartbeats per day or per week, depending on the rhythm you agree. Neither partner can read the other’s writing for a period until you have both finished all three prompts for that same period. Once a period opens, both of you can read it in Memories.
Milestones, Whispers and scheduled notes are additional features within the same private space. Whispers are short-lived by design: the sender chooses how long one stays on the recipient’s home screen, and it disappears when that time is up.
Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of everything you write and upload. We do not claim ownership of your heartbeats, photos, memories or milestones, and we do not sell them.
You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, to show it to you across your devices, to make it visible to your linked partner under the rules described above, and to back it up and restore it. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in routine backups that age out.
Linking a partner
Linking is by invitation and both people must agree. While you are linked, your partner can see your heartbeats for any period you have both completed, along with memories, milestones and notes you share through the app’s features.
You can unlink at any time from the Partner tab, and you choose what happens to the history you have already shared. Unlinking does not delete your partner’s account or the content they own. Think before you write: once a period opens, your partner has read it.
Acceptable use
Do not use HeartSync to break the law, to harass or abuse anyone including your partner, to upload content you do not have the right to upload, or to upload sexual content involving minors. Do not attempt to access another person’s account or content, interfere with the service, or work around its technical limits.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or puts other people or the service at risk.
Free use, ads and HeartSync Premium
HeartSync is free to use, and the free tier shows advertising. Sending a Whisper is free.
HeartSync Premium is an auto-renewing monthly subscription. It removes ads and unlocks ongoing photo uploads, home-screen milestone widgets and the Whispers archive. The price shown in the app applies, in your local currency, and may differ by region.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and it is charged to your store account. Cancel or manage it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not in HeartSync — deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy.
We may change Premium’s price or what it includes. If we do, we will say so in the app before the change affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Availability and changes
We work to keep HeartSync running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or remove features, and we may need to interrupt the service for maintenance.
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will give reasonable notice in the app or on this page, and the “last updated” date above will change. Continuing to use HeartSync after that means you accept the new terms.
Ending your use
You can stop using HeartSync at any time and delete your account from Settings, or by following the steps on the account deletion page. Deleting your account removes the content you own; see the privacy policy for what that covers.
We may end or limit your access if you materially break these terms, or if we stop offering the app.
Keep your own copies
HeartSync is a journal, not a backup service. We take reasonable care of your content, but you should keep your own copies of anything you could not bear to lose.
Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent the law allows, HeartSync is provided “as is” and we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. HeartSync is not a counselling, medical or crisis service, and nothing in it is professional advice.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data or lost profits. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for HeartSync in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.
Some places do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of the mandatory law where you live.
If you installed HeartSync from the App Store
These terms are between you and Web Dev NC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for HeartSync or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for HeartSync. If HeartSync fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to HeartSync, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims. Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling or discharging any third-party claim that HeartSync infringes intellectual property rights. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any US Government restricted-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
